Lets have Dinner together...

Hi All,

Have you ever wondered the benefits of having dinner together as one big family everyday? I am sure all of us do it but it has become more of a routine for us then appreciating the blessing of those moments and thanking God for the good food and happy family. As kids me and my sister had to make our mom call us multiple times for us to reach the dinner table and digest the idea of finishing the food our mom served. As we grew up we realized how important the whole idea was. Its the best time for each family member to share about how their day went, compliment the food prepared and plans things for the weekend or just talk about anything. The most important thing that is happening here which we always fail to notice- we are spending the best quality time with our family without any interruptions.

In today's busy world where sometimes different members arrive at different times due to work timings and all, I have noticed each member having dinner at different times. I am not saying we are doing it on purpose as sometimes there are unavoidable reasons but I would like to stress the importance of having dinner together as one big family. The benefits of it is something you will not realize but will be incorporated into your life on a consistent basis. Then there comes the most usual pattern of having dinner- a combination of watching a movie or TV show and having dinner together. Friends, you might be sitting together in this dinner, but if you think about it is it giving you the same feeling or benefit you would have had if you were just sitting next to one another and sharing a conversation about how your day went or some problem you faced that day or a funny little incident that happened, where all of you can share a laugh together. What a blessed moment will that be! Just sitting in front of the TV, gluing your eyes to the big screen, lazy to get the next serve in fear of missing a scene, lazy to pause and then go and take the second serve and then coming back and continuing the movie, don't you feel you are missing on an entire opportunity of sharing quality time with your family. I am not saying I am completely against the idea and I don't have the right to say as well as even in our house we do that sometimes. There are days when we feel like watching a movie rather than just sitting and talking and friends I tell you, I regret that almost everytime:) So we try our best to delay watching the movie after dinner as much as possible. Again I am not saying you will have great and interesting topics to share and have a big laugh every single day, but I can assure you that you will never regret the decision of having dinner together with your family or friends ever in your life. Yes it is true sometimes you will have to listen to some lectures at the dinner table from your seniors about what to do and what not to do and which can drive you crazy :) But will you going and changing places ever stop that lecture following you afterwards. No right? So just try your best and enjoy the food.
That's all for now friends, so as much as possible lets all make sure we have dinner together  as one big family as it will make your life so much happier.

Thanks,
Aysha

Family....Our Life

Hi All,
Hope you all are doing great. This is my first post for my new blog where I will be sharing thoughts that I feel are important to be shared. I am not new to the blogging world and already run a successful food blog. But I have always loved writing and thought I shouldn't wait longer to start doing it.
I am going to start with my first post and I believe there is no better topic to start than to write about the most important part of our life or should I say -our life-Our Family.
In todays busy world we are all able to survive and do the things we want because we have the support of our family. Still how many of us sometimes fails to appreciate the value of family in our life. No amount of wealth, no amount of any other material goods will give you the happiness you feel when you are surrounded by family. Yet we will fail to value it completely sometimes. Thanks to our busy schedules and busy life.

How many of us have  postpond calling our mom, dad or siblings sometimes thinking they will understand and instead focusing on other less important things in life, like arranging a party ,setting up a new lawn care service or just watching our favourite TV show. Why do we do this?  Because we know for sure that we are going to be judged if the party doesn't turn out well or the other things won't turn out as expected. But if we miss calling our family, the family who truly cares for us, who loves us, there is going to be no problem and nobody is going to judge us. And the reason for that, Our family understands us. Shouldn't we be giving more importance to them and spending more quality time with them. I am not saying we are doing all this knowingly, but today's hectic work schedules and busy life has sometimes made us forget our priorities. Its at times like this we need to think about it and start appreciating the real important things in life....Because life my friend, is all about the journey with its ups and downs and not just the destination.

Thanks,
Aysha
